Langenheim has 12-strike Saturday

Brandon Langenheim's mother usually watches her 16-year-old son bowl on Saturday mornings at Boardman Lanes.
On Oct. 29, she wasn't there. That's when he had his first 300.
"Normally, she's there," Langenheim said. His stepfather, David Downey, however, was present.
"Usually, he stays home and she comes," said the bowler who averages around 185 in the Juniors league.
Langenheim, a sophomore at Boardman High, started with an inauspicious 150 game, followed by 214. The perfect game gave him 664.
His last three throws in the second game were a strike, nine-count and spare. Then he strung together 12 strikes.
"It should have been more," Langenheim said of his disappointment in the first two games when he was hitting the pocket, yet coming up short carrying some pins.
"I noticed it during practice," Langenheim said. "They should have been falling."
He had no trouble hitting the target on his first ball in each frame.
"I was aiming for the second arrow and was no more than three boards off on any throw. Even though the pins weren't falling, my coaches told me to stick with it."
Flip-flopped balls
Langenheim changed his ball-selection pattern between the first and second games. For the first game, the first ball he threw was the Storm Deuce II; the Columbia 300 Messenger was the pick-up ball.
"It was a horrible first game," the right-hander said before he flip-flopped the ball order to start the middle game.
He used the Messenger exclusively for the last game.
"It was reacting better because the oil pattern was worn down," Langenheim said. "It went from medium oil to dry. The Messenger reacts better there."
In the same league, Andrea Skrinyer had a 10-in-a-row 288.
Before Oct. 29, Langenheim, a member of the Boardman junior varsity bowling team last season, previously hung his hat on a 278 game rolled at Boardman last May. His high set remains 711, which was rolled about four weeks ago at Wedgewood.
Brandon began bowling about five years ago, when friends encouraged him to join the Boardman Bantams.
Skodacek has 834
Steve Skodacek had 834 in Sunday Nite Mixers at Wedgewood on Oct. 23. His games were 278, 277, 279.
On the same night in Sunday Nite Mixers, Mike Skelly's 300 was his second in the early 2005-2006 season. Skelly's set was 660.
Vince Russo's 300 in Parker at Holiday on Oct. 22 was his second in the past three weeks.
Ken Kimerer had an 11-in-a-row 290 toward a 785 set in Thursday Night Sportsman at Wedgewood.
Teri Haefke's 746 led Wedgewood Ladies Trio on Nov. 1 with Marla Chicase and Erin Fairchild rolling 725 and 722, respectively. All were for three games. Haefke's four-game score was 1,004.
The Strike Zone Pro Shop team of Nancy Fairchild, Dan Hageman, Steve Kana, Jim White, David Tacsik and Joe Baker won first quarter at A-Plus, while the Multi Dollar Corp. won Boardman Businessmen's first quarter. At Kay, the Army-Navy Sr. team won Girard Fraternal's first quarter.
The various first-quarter champs at Bowladrome were: B.K. Bowlers (Sunday Mixed League), Bowladrome Lanes (Tangier Bar League), Clark's Painting (Clark's Painting League) and Hi Rollers (Saturday Mixed League).
Frank's Greenhouse won D & amp; R Garage Door's first quarter at Wedgewood.
