XCANFIELD --Kati Elizabeth Draper, 8236 Piney Orchard, Blacklick, and Justin Wayne Shearer, 3929 Kedleston Drive, Gahanna, were married at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at Canfield Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. Kevin Heckathorn officiated, and a reception was held at Das Dutch Village Inn in Columbiana. After a Caribbean cruise, the couple live at the groom's address.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Tom Draper, 159 Griswold Drive, Boardman, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Shearer Jr., 105-C Longanecker Drive, Connellsville, Pa.
The bride's A-line gown of white matte satin featured beading on the spaghetti straps and bodice and a chapel train.
Espresso-colored gowns were worn by the bride's sister and honor attendant, Kari Ann Draper, and the bridesmaids, Katie Lape and Janel Shearer, a sister of the groom.
John Shearer was best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Ernest Shearer III, also the groom's brother, and Dr. Cory Shaw. Ushers were Brian Rider, the bride's cousin; Jeremy Steach; and Ryan Kirby.
The couple earned bachelor's degrees at Westminster College, hers in biology and his in chemistry. The bride also holds a master's in muscle physiology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and Virginia State College and is an associate scientist with Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories in Columbus. The groom is pursuing a doctorate in chemistry at Ohio State University.
