Computer glitch delays direct deposit of pay
The cause of the electronic payroll glitch was not known as of Friday.
YOUNGSTOWN -- An error in the electronic transfer of payroll files delayed direct deposits for employees of Humility of Mary Health Partners, resulting in their not being paid on time.
The error occurred Wednesday but was not identified until early Friday, said Tina Creighton, a HMHP spokeswoman.
HMHP was working with area banks Friday to remedy the situation. She said it was not yet known what caused the glitch.
Creighton said HMHP regrets any inconvenience this may have caused and is taking steps to ensure that no employee suffers economic consequences because of the late deposits.
She said HMHP employees who cannot make it through the weekend without their pay should contact their supervisors for information on how to receive a cash advance.
HMHP is strong financially, maintaining some 190 days' cash on hand to cover operating expenses, including payroll, Creighton said.
Employees can be assured that HMHP is working to identify how the problem occurred so its financial systems can be strengthened to prevent it from happening again, she said.
