Westminster 14, Grove City 13
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Westminster's Brett Ziegler caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Brett Myers with just 16 seconds remaining. After a scoreless first quarter, Westminster (4-5, 2-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference) scored first when Ziegler caught a 43-yard touchdown pass from J.R. Barley. But the Wolverines tied the score less than two minutes later when Bradford Clark threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Scott Fichter to make it 7-7 at the half. Grove City (3-7, 2-4) took the lead with 4:42 left in the third quarter when Ross Trimmer returned a fumble 42 yards. But kicker Brandon McCall missed the extra point in what proved to be a costly miss. The Wolverines defense held for much of the fourth quarter until Ziegler and Myers teamed up to tie the score. Chris Castillo made no mistake with the extra point to give the Titans a thrilling win.
Geneva 29, Ohio Dominican 28
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- Quarterback Justin Sciarro capped a 236-yard, three-touchdown afternoon with last-second heroics for Geneva. With just 1:44 remaining, Sciarro led the Golden Tornadoes (7-3, 4-2 Mid-States Football Association) on an eight-play, 82-yard drive and threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Bam Harmon with just 14 seconds remaining to tie the game 28-28. And kicker Zach Blair made no mistake with the extra point to give Geneva the win. Ohio Dominican scored the first two touchdowns of the game on Marcus Roberts' 1-yard run and Jared Stace's 10-yard touchdown catch.
Thiel 21, Buffalo State 3
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Darrell Satterfield threw two touchdown passes to Brandon Chamber, as Thiel completed its first unbeaten regular season since 1950. Satterfield, who completed 14-of-32 passes for 261 yards, connected with Chamber on a 24-yard scoring pass with 4:28 remaining in the second quarter. The two also connected on a 67-yard scoring strike with 10:09 left in the game. Chamber had seven catches for 167 yards. Thiel (9-0) also scored on a 1-yard run by Dan Hess with 1:38 to go in the third quarter. Buffalo State (3-5) scored its only points in the first quarter on a 24-yard field goal by Eric Buchanan. Mike Mikolaichik completed 26-of-53 passes for 341 yards for Buffalo State, while Jonathan Allen caught 12 passes for 101 yards.
Mount Union 45, Muskingum 0
NEW CONCORD -- Mike Jorris threw for 370 yards and two touchdowns for Mount Union. Nate Kmic scored twice in the second quarter on runs of 5 and 10 yards, and Kelechi Ibeh added two touchdowns, running in from the 5 in the first and grabbing a 17-yard scoring pass from Jorris in the fourth. Matt Kostelnik scored on a 25-yard fumble recovery in the first. Mount Union (8-1, 7-1 Ohio Conference) racked up 558 yards of offense, holding Muskingum (2-7, 2-6) to 170.
Kenyon 41, Hiram 38
HIRAM -- Rafael Sanchez had 18 carries for 174 yards and two touchdowns and also threw for 107 yards to lead Kenyon. Trevor Henderson, who threw for 428 yards and two touchdowns, tossed a 25-yard TD pass to Max Kravitz with 9:14 remaining to give Hiram a 38-34 lead. But Sanchez finished off a three-play, 77-yard drive with a 16-yard run to make it 41-38 with 6:22 left. The loss wasted a stellar effort by Henderson, who also rushed for 45 yards and three touchdown. His 1-yard scoring run at the start of the fourth quarter tied the game at 31. The Terriers (1-8, 1-5) finished with 523 yards of offense.
Allegheny 41, Earlham 0
RICHMOND, Ind. -- Allegheny (2-7, 2-4 NCAC) gained 472 yards -- 216 on the ground and 256 through the air -- while holding the Quakers to just 167. Mario Tarquinio rushed for 116 yards on 28 carries, while Jimmy Savage threw for two touchdown passes on 12-of-24 for 201 yards. Jim Lieb caught five passes for 105 yards and a score.
Walsh 31, Urbana 14
URBANA -- Sam Cerreta threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns and Dustin Stewart rushed for 124 yards and two scores as Walsh beat Urbana. Cerreta completed 14 of 20 passes and was sacked four times. He found Donel Durham for a 58-yard TD pass in the first and Rob Lash on a 23-yard scoring play in the fourth. Stewart carried 25 times for Walsh (8-2, 5-1 Mid-States). He scored on runs of 1 and 50 yards. Walsh led Urbana (6-4, 3-3) 10-0 at halftime. Blue Knights quarterback Ryan Gehlert completed 24 of 38 passes for 213 yards with one interception. Luther Henderson scored on a 6-yard run and Rob Orta added a score on a 2-yard run in the fourth. Lash caught six passes for 105 yards for the Cavaliers.
Malone 34, Taylor 32
CANTON -- Brad Reifsnyder threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns to lead Malone over Taylor. Malone (3-6, 2-4 Mid-States) built a 27-13 lead in the third quarter, highlighted by Reifsnyder's 50-yard TD pass to Tyler Davis in the first and 9-yard scoring throw to A.J. Owen in the second. David Estaugh also had a 5-yard TD run in the third for the Pioneers. But Taylor came back in the second half. Anthony Lee had 7- and 3-yard touchdown runs to cut Malone's lead to 27-26. Reifsnyder's third touchdown pass -- a 3-yard throw to Owen with 1:29 left -- gave the Pioneers a 34-26 lead. Taylor had a chance to tie the game when Lee scored on a 3-yard run with 34 seconds left but Wes Krider's pass on the conversion attempt was incomplete. Reifsnyder completed 19 of 24 passes for 271 yards for Malone. Trent Dibell rushed for 70 yards on 10 carries. Krider completed 13 of 25 passes for 248 yards and one touchdown for Taylor, including a 4-yard pass to Brennan in the second quarter. Lee rushed for 171 yards on 37 carries.
