Doctor enters plea of innocent in court

CANFIELD -- An area doctor entered an innocent plea to a domestic violence charge at his arraignment Wednesday in Mahoning County Court here.
Dr. Robert J. Brocker, 52, of Glenview Road, also waived his right to a speedy trial before Judge Scott D. Hunter. His case will be set for a pretrial within 30 days.
Dr. Brocker, who has an office on Covington Street in Youngstown, was arrested around 10:15 a.m. Sunday after his wife, Kathy, called 911, according to a police report. He was released on a $1,500 bond.
According to the police report, Dr. Brocker's wife said he threw her to the floor outside the doctor's office at the couple's home after she argued with him about his drinking and not helping her with their children.
When questioned by police, Brocker said his wife fell after he grabbed her, and he tried to escort her out of his office, the report said.
