ST. LOUIS -- Youngstown State punter Joe Bishop was named Gateway Football Conference special teams player of the week.
Bishop averaged 46.0 yards on five punts in the Penguins' 21-7 defeat at Northern Iowa. He had a long of 53 yards in and placed three punts inside the 20-yard line. Both of his kickoffs reached the end zone.
Southern Illinois running back Arkee Whitlock was named offensive player of the week and Western Illinois linebacker Wyatt Green was named defensive player of the week.

*GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thiel sophomore running back Steve Minton was named Presidents' Athletic Conference offensive player of the week after running for a career-high 217 yards and two touchdowns in the Tomcats' 24-14 victory over Thomas More.
*GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thiel sophomore forward Nikola Vasilev was named PAC men's soccer player of the week.
Vasilev posted his second career hat trick in the Tomcats' 3-2 win over Thomas More.
Vasilev finished the season with 22 points (9 goals, 4 assists). He is the school's all-time leader in goals (24) and points (54) after two seasons.
*HIRAM -- Junior outside hitter Jen Hlebovy (Boardman) of Hiram was named North Coast Athletic Conference player of the week for volleyball.
Hlebovy led Hiram to a pair of straight-set NCAC victories over Oberlin and Kenyon with 20 kills, 21 digs, and a block. She finished the week with a .500 attack percentage, and the Terriers sealed up their first-ever NCAC regular season title in any sport.
*NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & amp; Jefferson's men and Westminster's women are the top seeds for the Presidents' Athletic Conference soccer tournaments, starting today.
Washington & amp; Jefferson will play host to Westminster in a semifinal Wednesday at 7 p.m. The other semifinal will pit Bethany at second-seeded Grove City at 2 p.m. The championship game is Saturday at the highest seed at 1 p.m.
The women's bracket is headed by three-time defending PAC champion Westminster, which will play host to Grove City today at 2. Also, W & amp;J plays host to Thomas More at 6 p.m. The champion game is also Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the highest seed.
*THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Amberly Turchyn of Pfeiffer University, was selected Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference women's soccer player of the week.
Turchyn scored the game-winning goal in the 99th minute of overtime to seal a 1-0 win over Lees-McRae. The sophomore defender from Canfield led Pfeiffer to two wins.
Amberly, the daughter of Kim and Wally Turchyn, was home-schooled.

Cavs exercise option on Pavlovic
CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers exercised the fourth-year contract option on Sasha Pavlovic Monday, a move that will keep the swingman with the club through the 2006-07 season.
Pavlovic averaged 4.8 points and 1.1 rebounds in 65 games last season for the Cavs, who traded a first-round draft pick to the Charlotte Bobcats for the 21-year-old on June 23, 2004.
Pavlovic was originally selected with the 19th overall pick in the 2003 draft by Utah. The native of Serbia-Montenegro has averaged 4.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in 144 career games.
Fan who took ball pleads innocent
CINCINNATI -- The fan who ran out of the stands and snatched a football from Brett Favre's hand pleaded innocent to a variety of charges at his arraignment Monday, while the Bengals promised not to let it happen again.
Gregory Gall, 31, of Cincinnati, is accused of resisting arrest, trespass and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. He was released on his own recognizance following his appearance in Municipal Court.
The Bengals are reviewing their security measures to prevent a repeat of Gall's run on the field, which interrupted the final minute of Cincinnati's 21-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
