No Smoking Posters win honors for local pupils

First-place winners are to receive $100.
BOARDMAN -- Several area pupils were to be recognized today as winners in the annual No Smoking Poster Contest sponsored by Health for Humanity Ohio Network.
After classroom presentations by Health for Humanity representatives in 19 area schools last spring on the effects of smoking and drinking alcohol, pupils were invited to create original posters expressing what they had learned, said Gim Oh, network spokeswoman.
Posters were judged this fall by volunteer art teachers, and the awards were presented at the annual meeting of Health for Humanity Ohio Network at 5:30 p.m. at Mr. Anthony's. The winning posters will be on display at the annual meeting, Oh said.
