Bonds set for 3 men in separate cases
YOUNGSTOWN -- Million-dollar bonds were set Monday in municipal court for men accused in separate cases of rape and murder.
Judge Robert P. Milich set bond at $2 million for Lee Johnson Jr., 33, of Samuel Street and Ohio Avenue, who is charged with murder. He is accused in the death of Regina Miller, 28, of Forestview Avenue, who was found dead in bed at the Samuel Street house around 4 a.m. Oct. 23.
Bond was set at $1 million for Michael A. Bell, 20, of Hudson Avenue, who is charged with a rape that took place on the South Side in mid-September.
Bond was set at $50,000 for Theotis Jackson, 57, of South Forest Avenue, who police said obstructed official business by letting Johnson, his nephew, hide at his home.
Police said Jackson denied Johnson was in the house, but the fugitive was found in the attic last Friday.
