SANDLOTS Astro's Mang shuts out Roth Bros.



Wharmby, Mink, R & amp;J and Rondinelli also posted victories.
STRUTHERS -- John Mang tossed a one-hitter as Astro Falcons won their second straight Class B League game Sunday, 5-0, over Roth Brothers at Bob Cene Park.
Mang had four strikeouts and did not walk a batter. He had 13 ground-ball outs and the only hit he allowed was a second-inning single by losing pitcher Jim Neil.
Neil went the first five innings, allowing all five runs (two earned), on six hits, with three walks and three strikeouts for Roth (0-2).
Adam Wigley had a double and a single for Astro while Kyle Smith added a pair of hits and Drew Turocy a two-run single.
Wharmby 7, Dave Sugar 0
John Warren tossed a two-hit shutout and Lou Kopachy went 4-for-4 to lead Wharmby. It was the second straight shutout for Wharmby pitchers. Warren struck out seven and walked two while Kopachy had a triple and three singles. Tom Popidak added three RBIs. Barry Adkins (0-2) went the first four innings for Sugar. He allowed five runs on six hits while striking out one. Dan Allison and Chris Martin had singles.
Mink 4, Livi Steel 2
Lonnie McQueen had a double and a single with two RBIs to lead Mink while Matt Pytlik and Kevin Lee added two hits apiece. Matt Weimer went the first five innings for the victory, allowing one run on five hits. Corey Vukovic picked up the save as he went the final two innings. Brock Stevens and Stephan Herman each had a pair of hits for Livi.
R & amp;J 9, Koch/Line Drive 0
R & amp;J broke open a scoreless game with a six-run fourth inning. Joe Fox tossed a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts. Jim Pasquine hit a triple for R & amp;J.
Rondinelli 6, Yo. Express 2
Dan Babyak and Frank Rosile had a triple and a single apiece while George Kovac had two hits for Rondinelli. Vince Rioyali picked up the win with Tim Carrey recording the save.
For the Express, Corey Keller had a pair of hits and two RBIs.
Wharmby Sports 6, Mink 0
On Sunday, John Thomas and Tom Popidak had two hits apiece for Wharmby while Kyle Milbert had two RBIs. Andy Chrobak pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and striking out eight.
Chris Pechalk doubled and Matt Pytlik tripled for Mink.
Astro Falcons 10, Dave Sugar 0
Joe Kohler allowed two singles and struck out three in a five-inning complete game for Astro. Jared Bartholomew had two hits, including a double, and Joe Irwin tripled. Irwin had three RBIs and John Mang had two.
Rondinelli 9, R & amp;J 6
Frank Rosile had three hits for Rondinelli and Matt Katich had two. Chuck Olesky tripled and had three RBIs and Ed Rohan doubled. Matt Bable pitched a complete game, fanning 10.
Jim Pasquine had two hits for R & amp;J, including a triple.
Youngstown Express 7, Livi Steel 5
Youngstown Express scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally from a 4-3 deficit. Corey Keller had three hits for Express and drove in three runs. J.R. Gibson and Ryan Walters both doubled.
Brock Stevens tripled and singled for Livi.
Line Drive 5, Roth 1
Greg Sansano allowed two hits in a complete-game performance and he struck out four. John Izzo singled twice for Line Drive while Greg McGlynt tripled.
Class AA
YOUNGSTOWN -- Dave Lough singled with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving Youngstown Metros a 1-0 win over Penn-Ohio at Pemberton-Donnell Park.
Brett Seybert led off the winning rally with a walk, but he was forced at second by Ed Morales. Dan Bertolini then doubled and Jonathon Habuda was intentionally walked, loading the bases.
Lough had two hits in the game.
Andrew Good singled twice for Penn-Ohio.
Bud's/DiCioccio/Civics 8,Gibson Governor 3
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mark Nightingale had three hits while Frank Santore and Jared Bogan had two each for Bud's. Shane Davis drove in a pair of runs, one on a double, and Jordan Rogers tripled.
Five players had singles for Gibson Governor.
Roth 13, Tri County 0
YOUNGSTOWN -- George Rohan had three hits, including a double, for Roth, and Jim Putko homered and doubled. Brian Frasco and Brent Timko also hit doubles.
Keith Jackson pitched a one-hitter.
Jason King singled for Tri County.
