STATE TENNIS K. Mills Kings captures titles in D-I tourney
COLUMBUS (AP) -- Kings Mills Kings dominated in Division I of the boy's state tennis tournament this weekend, sweeping the singles and doubles titles.
John Allare dropped the first set to Kings Mills Kings teammate Doug Matthews before winning three straight to take the singles crown.
Matt Allare and Ra'ees Ismail knocked off Sandy Berry and Carl Bernstein of Cincinnati Sycamore in straight sets to give Kings Mills Kings the doubles title.
In the Division II singles championship, Stephen Havens of Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy edged Christopher Herrlinger of Cincinnati Country Day, 7-5 and 6-3.
Elida's Landon Neuman and Jason Hilborn beat Billy Strunk and Vinod Mahalingam of Cincinnati Indian Hill for the Division II doubles championship.
