TORONTO -- Roy Halladay pitched a two-hitter for his second shutout of the season, leading the Blue Jays. Halladay (8-2) allowed only a bunt single to Nick Punto in the first and an infield single to Shannon Stewart in the fifth. He had a season-high 10 strikeouts and walked none for the eighth shutout of his career.

BALTIMORE -- Craig Monroe's third homer in three games highlighted a six-run seventh inning, and Detroit rallied from a five-run deficit to sweep Baltimore. Baltimore became the last team in the majors this season to lose three in a row.

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Jon Garland will have to wait even longer for the chance to be a nine-game winner. Kevin Mench hit a three-run homer as part of a six-run sixth inning, and Texas stretched the major league's longest active winning streak to eight games.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Rookie Jeremy Reed homered and drove in a career-high four runs, leading Seattle over Tampa Bay. Reed hit a solo homer in the second inning, delivered a two-run single that made it 8-8 in the eighth and then snapped a 9-9 tie in the ninth with a two-out double off Seth McClung (0-2).
Angels 7, Royals 6
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Steve Finley and Jose Molina drove in three runs each with two-out, extra-base hits, and Los Angeles completed a three-game sweep of Kansas City. The win was the fourth straight for the Angels, who scored 30 runs in the series after totaling only 31 in their previous nine games. Bartolo Colon (6-3) won despite allowing a season-high 12 hits and four runs in 7 2/3 innings.

Marlins 6, Mets 3
MIAMI -- Carlos Delgado hit a three-run homer, and Josh Beckett allowed four hits over seven innings to lead Florida. The Marlins scored five runs in the seventh inning, highlighted by Delgado's ninth homer, to salvage the final game of the four-game series and snap a four-game losing streak.

ATLANTA -- Ryan Langerhans hit a two-run triple in the Braves' three-run fifth inning and Kelly Johnson made two strong defensive plays in his major league debut as Atlanta averted a three-game sweep. Tim Hudson (6-3) needed 99 pitches to last seven innings. He gave up six hits and walked five batters while allowing two runs.

MILWAUKEE -- Andy Pettitte pitched six shutout innings, and Houston won a road series for the first time this year. Pettitte (3-5) missed his last start due to tightness in his left elbow, but snapped a personal three-game losing streak to win for the first time since May 2.

ST. LOUIS -- Livan Hernandez wrapped up the first five-victory month of his career to become the NL's second eight-game winner, and Brad Wilkerson had three doubles for Washington. Jamey Carroll's RBI single capped a three-run fifth for the Nationals (25-25), who avoided getting swept for the second straight series and ended a five-game losing streak.

CHICAGO -- Aramis Ramirez had three hits, including a homer, and four RBIs, and Derrek Lee went 3-for-4 to lead Chicago over Colorado. Jeromy Burnitz added a three-run homer in a five-run, sixth-inning rally that put the Cubs ahead for good. He also drove in a run with a groundout. Todd Walker had his first career pinch-hit homer for the Cubs, who at 24-24 climbed back to .500 for the first time since May 1.
Padres 9, Giants 6
SAN FRANCISCO -- Damian Jackson hit a tiebreaking, two-run single in the ninth inning, and San Diego completed its first three-game sweep at SBC Park. Chris Hammond (5-0) pitched two innings for the win after the Padres couldn't hold a three-run lead for starter Adam Eaton, who was denied his career-best sixth straight win. Trevor Hoffman worked the ninth for his 13th straight save.
Dodgers 6, Diamondbacks 3
PHOENIX -- Jeff Weaver earned his first win in four starts and Los Angeles Dodgers won a series for the first time in three weeks. The Dodgers scored five times in the first three innings. Los Angeles had lost five straight series since winning two of three at Cincinnati from May 6-8.
