XWALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Vicki L. Brown and Shawn Burke, both of 118 Sunnybrae Court, Martinez, Calif., were married at 1:30 p.m. May 28 at St. Mary Church.
The daughter of Ralph and Grace Brown, 4762 Pine Trace Drive, Youngstown, and the son of Thomas Burke of Titusville, Fla., and Elizabeth Burke of Kent, exchanged their vows before the Rev. Don Osuna.
Afterward they received guests at Holy Trinity Cultural Center in Moraga, Calif., before leaving for a honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.
The bride's white satin A-line gown was fashioned with a beaded bodice, dropped waist and chapel-length train.
She was attended by Adria Oswald of Washington as maid of honor and bridesmaids Meghan Vasbinder of Salinas, Calif., the groom's sister; Teresa Bostrom of San Ramon, Calif.; and Allyson Oberfield of Martinez.
The groom's brother, Tom Burke of Pleasanton, Calif., served as best man, and groomsmen were his brother-in-law, Aaron Vasbinder of Salinas; the bride's brother, Bill Brown of Tampa, Fla.; and Yutaka Takagi of Santa Monica, Calif. Jonathan Hedden of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Chris Dee of Chicago served as ushers.
The bride is a clinical lab scientist specialist for UCSF Clinical Laboratories in San Francisco, and the groom is a software consultant for netASPx in California. Both hold bachelor's degrees from Kent State University, she in medical technology and he in finance.
