YOUNGSTOWN & amp; MAHONING COUNTY
Children, preschool to 6th grade, will experience "Dragons, Dreams & amp; Daring Deeds," while teens in grades 7-12 can "Joust Read" and adults will be "Knights & amp; Ladies." All programs are free and open to the public.
KICKOFF PROGRAMS
Kickoff Summer Reading at your local library. Each kickoff features a special presenter and a treat from either Friendly's or Chapters. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
"Dare to Dream with Ohio's Own Princess: Miss Ohio, Amanda Beagle." Stories, music and more for children of all ages at Main Library, June 6, and Poland, June 1. Both begin at 7 p.m.
"Dragons & amp; Dreams: A Library Magic Show Starring Jim Kleefeld." Meet the Vanishing Dragon, the Knave of Hearts, the Errant Princess, and other magical friends for children of all ages at Campbell, 11 a.m. June 20; and Canfield, 2 p.m. June 20.
"Mad Science of Northeast Ohio Presents Dare to Dream." Laugh with the court jester, be amazed by Merlin, and help recover the secret scroll for children of all ages at Struthers, 2 p.m. June 21.
"Dragons, Dreams, and Magic with Jocko the Clown." Fun for the whole family at Brownlee Woods, 10 a.m. June 21; South, 2 p.m. June 21; West, 10 a.m. June 22; Sebring, 2 p.m. June 22; and Main Library, 11 a.m. June 23.
"I Dream of Dragons with Tom's Phoolery." Enjoy magical illusions, mystery, and fun for children of all ages at Boardman, 7 p.m. June 22 and Poland, 2 p.m. June 27.
"Once Upon a Knight Starring Ventriloquist Mark Wade." Meet Sir Charlie, the Chicken Hearted and Mordo, the Goofy Dragon for children of all ages at Austintown, 2 p.m. June 27.
CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
"Dragonology: Can You Stand the Test of Dragon's Breath?" Dragon science, games, stories, and craft for children of all ages at Austintown, 7 p.m. June 21; Lake Milton, 3 p.m. June 22; and North Jackson, 3 p.m. June 23. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
"It's a Knight's Life." Games, stories, craft, and fun for children of all ages at Austintown, 2 p.m. June 30.
"Come & amp; Join the Fun." Stories and more fun for children ages 3-6 at Boardman, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Wednesdays.
"Parachute Fun." Stories and parachute fun for children ages 2-6 at Boardman, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. June 8. Child must be accompanied by an adult.
"I Challenge Thee ... to a Game." Outdoor games of skill and chance for children of all ages at Boardman, 2 p.m. June 28. Program will be held indoors if raining. Parents should accompany preschool children.
"Feudal Fare." Jesters, dragons, castles, and more -- craft fun for children of all ages at Campbell, 10 a.m. June 30; and Struthers, 10 a.m. June 29.
"Dreaming of Dragons." Kick off summer reading 2005 with tales of dragons, games, and a craft for children of all ages at Canfield, 6 p.m. June 29; Greenford, 3 p.m. June 20; and Sebring, 10 a.m. June 30.
