Harrises celebrate 50th anniversary during a cruise

XYOUNGSTOWN -- Jesse and Carolyn Harris, 714 Oxford St., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and renewed their wedding vows while on a cruise to Europe.
The couple will also be honored at a family dinner by their sons, Jesse L. Harris Jr. of Chicago and Miazel Harris of Los Angeles. They also have one granddaughter.
The former Carolyn A. Jones and Mr. Harris were married May 7, 1955.
Mrs. Harris retired in 1996 from Packaging Corp. of America and Phoenix Corp. She belongs to the Rocketts Bowling League.
Mr. Harris was employed by the Ohio Leather Co. before working for General Motors, where he retired in 1996 after 30 years. He is a member of Local 1112 Retirees.
The couple are members of Tabernacle Baptist Church and silver life members of NAACP.
