Garden Forum May flower show winners are announced

YOUNGSTOWN -- The Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area held its May Flower Show on May 21 and 22 at the Davis Center in the Mill Creek MetroParks.
Chairwoman for the show was Elsie DeHoff, and the judges were Jean Davidson, Evelyn Resek and Iris Chomyn.
Blue ribbons in design were won by Beverly Patrick, Judy Smith, and Laura Miller, Ikebana; Pearl Marlos, Rose Marie Roth and Millie Campean, Gleaners; Beverly Italiano, Nature Lovers; Evelyn Resek, Mahoning; Elsie DeHoff, Austintown; Kathleen Willingham, Trumbull County Herb Society; and Joyce Dunbar, Grand Cayman.
Pearl Marlos of Gleaners was the winner of the Gold Seal for Best of Show in Design. She also received the Gold Seal for Best of Show in Horticulture, along with Lynn Hoffman, Men's Garden Club, and Nancy Kovach, member-at-large.
Blue ribbon winners for horticulture were won by Martha Murphy and Carmela Clement, St. Edward; Beverly Patrick and Laura Miller, Ikebana; Rose Marie Roth, Daphne and Gleaners; Pearl Marlos, Gleaners; Peggy Potts, Johnny Appleseed; Norma McMahon, Mary Schall and Irene John, Austintown; Dorothy Haddox, Our Lady of Fatima; Nancy Kovach, member-at-large; Lynn Hoffman and Bill McPherson Men's; and Mary Macynski and Roxanne Macynski, public.
