It is always fatal. More than 30,000 people in the U.S. are affected by the condition and about 5,000 new cases occur each year.
The Center for ALS and Related Disorders at the Cleveland Clinic provides multi-disciplinary care and support to patients and their families, and conduct trials of clinical treatment to improve patient health and quality of life.
