Federation presents awards at luncheon held in Canfield



CANFIELD -- Youngstown Area Federation of Women's Clubs held its annual awards luncheon May 18 at A La Cart Catering.
Mrs. Lucile Bartelmay, president, welcomed members and guests. After the business meeting, Mrs. Kathleen Rickert, awards chairperson, introduced Mrs. Dorothy Schwers, who presented a special award to local artist Mrs. Mary Kay D'Isa for her achievements in the field of art.
Miss Marjorie DeHoff presented the Community Service Award to Mrs. Joyce Brooks, well-known educator, who spoke on "Educational Vision 2010." Mrs. Jeanne Beckman received the club's Woman of the Year award.
Mrs. Valerie Zurawick, scholarship chairperson, read letters of thanks from Youngstown State University students Christine Ruffner, who received a $1,500 scholarship from the club, and Tiffany Warminski, recipient of a $500 scholarship from the club.
The last meeting of the season will be a board meeting for all members to be held June 17 at the Ground Round Restaurant on South Avenue in Boardman.
