A summary of recent police activity in Poland, Hubbard and Liberty:
POLAND
May 21
Domestic violence: After responding to a 911 call from a Hamilton Street residence, officers arrested a 39-year-old man on a domestic violence charge. The suspect's father alleged he choked and pushed the victim; the man had blood on his right elbow.
May 24
Drugs: While executing a federal search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Diana Drive, police said they found suspected drug paraphernalia in the home.
HUBBARD
May 20
Arrest: Austintown police had in custody a Hubbard woman wanted on a warrant from Hubbard. The charge was failure to file 2001 income taxes.
Theft: A Youngstown woman discovered her wallet and a check missing while she was at Dollar General, 886 W. Liberty St.
Assault: A Jacobs Road man told police that, after being in a motor vehicle accident in the 800 block of West Liberty Street, the other driver on a motorcycle struck him in the face.
May 21
Arrest: Warren police arrested a Hubbard woman wanted on a warrant from Hubbard charging her with failure to appear on a theft charge.
May 22
Assault: A woman in the 400 block of Elizabeth Street told police she was a victim of assault.
May 24
Bad checks: An employee at St. Patrick's Church of Hubbard, 225 N. Main St., discovered a woman presented two checks at a bingo tournament and that both were drawn on a closed account.
Arrest: Austintown police held a Hubbard man wanted on a warrant from Hubbard. The warrant charged him with failure to appear on one felony count of theft.
Bad check: A worker at Patton's IGA Super Center, 880 W. Liberty St., reported receiving a check drawn on a closed account.
May 25
Arrest: Police picked up a Hubbard man on Lewis-Seifert Road. He was wanted on a warrant from Hubbard charging him with theft and assault.
Bad check: Someone cashed a bad check at National City Bank, 24 W. Liberty St.
LIBERTY
May 18
Assault: After officers responded to a fight in the 800 block of Church Hill Road, they saw that a Sharon, Pa., man sustained bumps on his head. The victim alleged a West Middlesex, Pa., man, 37, attacked him.
MAY 19
Arrest: After stopping a vehicle at a BP gas station, 2703 Belmont Ave., for an equipment violation, police arrested a 53-year-old Youngstown man. Charges are pending on a felony warrant charging him with heroin possession.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Ulysses, Ky., man staying at the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave., said a Lexington, Ky., man borrowed the victim's 1995 Ford Thunderbird and failed to return it.
Theft/vandalism: A Warren man staying at the Quality Inn and Suites, 4055 Belmont Ave., found out someone had removed a tire and a rim from his vehicle. The theft came to $350.
May 20
Theft: A worker at Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave., said a man stole a $20 pair of hair clippers.
Arrest: After acting on a tip, officers served a fugitive warrant at a James Lane residence. Arrested was a 30-year-old Richwood, W.Va., man wanted on warrants from West Virginia. Charges against him were two counts of petty larceny, both misdemeanors, and one felony count of forgery.
Vandalism: An employee at E.J. Blott Elementary School, 4003 Shady Road, called police after someone damaged six picnic tables and a sliding board. Damage was estimated at $4,300.
May 21
Criminal damage: A woman in the 200 block of Goldie Road discovered someone punctured a tire on her van and loosened the lug nuts, causing $70 in damage.
May 22
Arrest: After pulling over a car near the Liberty Plaza, 3551 Belmont Ave., for several equipment violations, police charged a Youngstown man, 40, with one felony count of receiving stolen property after determining the license plates on the vehicle had been stolen in Akron. The suspect also faced a charge of driving under suspension.
Aggravated menacing: A man in the 300 block of Goldie Road alleged his former girlfriend, 18, called threatening physical harm to both the victim and his current girlfriend.
May 23
Criminal damage: An employee for Liberty Public Schools reported someone used a vehicle to drive over part of a lawn the district owns in the 300 block of Church Hill-Hubbard Road, and damaged some recent landscaping.
Theft: A man in the 5300 block of Lakeview Drive discovered a check had been removed from his mailbox and cashed for $1,110 at an Austintown pawn shop.
Criminal damage: An employee at Punky's Pit Stop, 6670 Belmont Ave., found that glass on a door was shattered, resulting in $500 worth of damage.
