CRIME Police on lookout for female robber

The FBI is looking into the possibility the woman also robbed a bank.
YOUNGSTOWN -- There's a note-writing lady bandit on the loose.
A gun-toting woman wearing a ball cap used a note when she robbed the Brite and White laundromat on Belmont Avenue Wednesday afternoon. A gun-toting woman wearing a ball cap used a note when she robbed Wonder Bread on Mahoning Avenue Saturday afternoon.
Last month, a woman wearing a ball cap robbed the Key Bank on Belmont Avenue in Liberty. She made an oral demand, and no note or gun was used, the FBI said.
FBI Special Agent John Lichtefeld said Thursday that agents investigating the bank robbery will look into the possibility that the same woman is responsible for all three holdups. He said there aren't many women who rob businesses.
The woman who robbed the bank is described as black, 5 feet 6 inches, 140 pounds and in her 30s or 40s. The woman who robbed the bread store and laundromat is described as heavier.
Bandaged robber
The clerk at the Brite and White said a woman came in around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday and went to the soda machine before producing a note that said, "Hand over the money or die." The clerk handed over $60 from the register and then locked herself in a closet.
The clerk described the suspect to police as black, 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches and 200 pounds. She also had an Ace bandage on her right wrist and a small revolver in her left hand.
Later Wednesday afternoon, the clerk discovered that her wallet and checkbook had been stolen from a desk at her work station. Her bank advised that several of her checks had been cashed and she suspects the woman who robbed the laundromat cashed them.
Last Saturday afternoon, a clerk at Wonder Bread on Mahoning told police that a woman wearing an Ace bandage on her right wrist approached and handed over a note. A gun was concealed within the bandage.
The note said the woman is dying of AIDS and to put money in a bag and then sit on the floor for five minutes. The clerk gave the woman an unspecified amount of cash from the register.
The clerk described the robber as 27 to 30 years old, black, 5 feet 8 inches and 180 pounds.
