HORIZON BASEBALL Wisconsin-Milwaukee wins to earn rematch with Penguins

INDIANAPOLIS -- For the fifth straight game, the Youngstown State baseball team will see Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the other dugout.
The second-seeded Penguins (28-25) and third-seeded Panthers (23-29), who played four times last weekend at Eastwood Field, meet in the second round of the Horizon League tournament at Victory Field today (4 p.m.).
Wednesday, Wisconsin-Milwaukee defeated Butler, 7-5.
Penguins' coach Mike Florak said the series should pick up were it left off last Sunday.
"Milwaukee swings the bats very well and they're very mentally tough," he said. "We'll have to get good pitching and be fundamentally sound on defense."
"We're just going to take it one game at a time and hopefully everything will work out."
At stake
The winner of the game moves to Friday's winner's bracket contest (8 p.m.) and will be just one victory from the championship.
In addition to that, there will be plenty of motivation on both sides. YSU is the defending Horizon tournament champion while Milwaukee had to play on Wednesday, throwing ace Aaron Sorenson.
Sorenson picked up the win pitching seven innings. The Panthers jumped out to a 7-2 lead.
In the other first-round game, fourth-seed Wright State beat fifth-seed Cleveland State, 5-2.
Today at noon, Cleveland State and Butler play in an elimination game. Following the YSU-Milwaukee game, top-seed UIC and Wright State meet at 8 p.m.
