Weekend events celebrate 50th for the Smiths

XBOARDMAN -- A dinner reception was held May 14 at the Byzantine Center at the Grove in Youngstown to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of Carroll D. and Marilynn Smith, 5176 Westport Drive.
Hosting the event were the couple's children, Raymond and Tina DiGaetano, Gary and Kathy Smith, Scott Smith and Lori Tylinski, all of Gibsonia, Pa., and Joseph and Marnie Luongo and Robert and Megan Beam, all of Boardman.
Also held that weekend as part of the celebration were a dinner May 13 at Oscar's restaurant given by Mr. Smith's brothers and sisters, a cocktail party with Mrs. Smith's siblings and a daylong family celebration May 15 at Treesdale Country Club.
The former Marilynn Moran and Mr. Smith were married May 14, 1955, at St. Edward Church in Youngstown. Eleven grandchildren complete their family.
Mrs. Smith is a homemaker, and Mr. Smith is a manufacturer sales representative in Youngstown. He served with the Air Force Strategic Air Command and is a member of the Saxon Club.
Both are members of St. Christine Church and Salem Hills Country Club.
