Promise Keepers to hold conference for executives

Among the speakers will be the author of 'The One Minute Manager.'
DENVER -- Promise Keepers and the Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics are co-producing a conference on business ethics for America's top business executives.
"The CEO Summit: Purposeful Leadership" will be June 9 and 10 at the Embassy Suites hotel in Rogers, Ark., in advance of Promise Keepers' men's conference in Fayetteville, Ark.
"The current business climate indicates a lack of moral clarity," said Tom Fortson, president and CEO of Promise Keepers. "Influencing the marketplace can go no further than the ethical practices of those who lead industry and commerce. The time is right for this conference and the Soderquist Center is uniquely positioned to offer some badly needed perspective."
The conference aims to help participants find real solutions to common challenges including how to address faith in the workplace, how to manage influence, and hiring and firing decisions.
The agenda
Speakers include Ken Blanchard, author of 17 best sellers, including "The One Minute Manager;" Don Soderquist, former vice chairman of Wal-Mart; Bill Pollard, best-selling author of "The Soul of the Firm;" call-in guest Rick Warren, best-selling author of "The Purpose-Driven Life;" Eric Pillmore, senior vice president of Tyco International; Don Valencia, former senior vice president for Starbucks, and others.
"How do companies make the tough calls in this ultra-competitive global economy? The right calls come from a strong set of ethical values and practices," said Don Soderquist, founder of the Soderquist Center based at John Brown University in Arkansas. "Today's headlines are screaming for more appropriate behavior from our business leaders. We invite them to join us to press for solutions."
The two-day seminar is $295 and includes materials, meals and registration for the event at Razorback Stadium. Chief executive officers and their direct reports can register at http://www.promisekeepers.org, or by calling (800) 888-7595.
The Soderquist Center's mission, "Equipping People with the Transforming Power of Ethical Leadership," is grounded in Scripture and consistent with the vision of Promise Keepers -- "Men Transformed Worldwide." Soderquist (www.soderquist.org) and Promise Keepers believe Christian executives do not leave the marketplace to serve God.
This year, Promise Keepers celebrates 15 years of ministry. Since 1990, the international organization has reached more than 5.5 million men.
The CEO Summit precedes the June 10 and 11 Promise Keepers event at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, where more than 15,000 have registered.
