Campaign seeks to snuff out smoke
CANFIELD -- Health organizations and anti-tobacco groups are working together in an attempt to make Ohio smoke-free. The American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, Association of Ohio Health Commissioners and the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids are launching the SmokeFreeOhio.org campaign. The groups hope to collect 100,000 signatures from Ohio registered voters to get the initiative to make the state smoke free before Ohio lawmakers. Volunteers are needed to collect the necessary signatures. People interested in getting involved can visit www.smokefreeohio.org or call the American Cancer Society at (330) 533-0546 or toll free at (888) ACS-OHIO
