Brunch celebrates Dunleas' 50th year
XYOUNGSTOWN -- Dr. Fred and Rita Dunlea, 3298 Kingston Lane, were honored during a brunch May 21 at the Davis Center in Mill Creek Park in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple's ten children, their spouses and 26 grandchildren hosted the event. The children include, Fred Dunlea of Cincinnati; James Dunlea of Bedford, Mass.; John Dunlea of Salt Lake City, Utah; Tom Dunlea of Cincinnati; Tim Dunlea of Dublin; Laura Gedra of Fairfax Station, Va.; Karen McClurkin of Girard; David Dunlea of Canal Winchester; Elizabeth Blake of Denville, N.J.; and Robert Dunlea of Boston.
The former Rita Klein and Dr. Dunlea were married May 14, 1955, at St. Joseph Church in Youngstown.
Mrs. Dunlea, a homemaker, was a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth Health Center, then worked in Dr. Dunlea's office before she retired in 2000. She is a member of the Driftwood Garden Club.
Dr. Dunlea was a family practitioner until he retired in 2000. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a teacher at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and a member of the emeritus staff at St. Elizabeth.
Both are members of St. Christine Church.
