CRIME Police lack facts about man's death

The cause of death will not be known until an autopsy is performed, police said.

WARREN -- Police are searching for clues to the city's second homicide of the year.
Around 10:53 a.m. Thursday police received a call from 2379 Cranwood S.W. stating the man who lived there, Greg Warfield, had been found dead. Police did not have Warfield's age Thursday.
The reports did not state who called police or if Warfield lived in the home alone.
"We have just started investigating so we really don't have much to release at this time," said Police Chief John Mandopoulos. "Right now we are still doing the interviews and going over the crime scene."
The chief declined to say if police knew when Warfield had been killed.
Police have said they believe Warfield was shot, but the exact cause of death will not be known until an autopsy is performed by the Trumbull County Coroner's office.
Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk, the county's forensic pathologist, was called to the scene.
Previous killing
The city's first homicide happened March 13 when Ladell V. Smith, 20, of 1741 Southwest Blvd. died in a car after being shot in a Highland Homes parking lot. He was found after officer Tim Parana responded to shots being fired in the housing development about 11:15 p.m.
Arriving at the Lane Drive lot, the patrolman saw a 1996 Chevrolet with windows broken in both the driver's and passenger's side.
The police report states Smith was in the driver's seat and died at the scene.
A few days after the slaying, police arrested Jonathan Owens, 22, also known as C-Dog, on a murder charge. Owens' case is currently pending.
