HARTFORD -- Top Freestyle Motocross riders will perform here Saturday and Sunday when Sharon Speedway hosts the World Stunts Earth, Wind & amp; Fire Tour.
The event will also include jet-powered jeep and mini pit bike races. Gates open at 5 p.m. Saturday, with an open pit party from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and at noon Sunday, with the open pit party from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults (15 and older) and $5 for kids (6-14). Kids 5 and younger will be admitted free.
To save $2 off adult tickets, purchase them in advance at the speedway ticket office, Warren Harley-Davidson store on Elm Road, Harley-Davidson of Youngstown on U.S. Route 224 in Boardman, Yamaha of Warren on state Route 45 in Champion or Hovis Auto Parts on State Street in Sharon. 'Jakub' film at Butler tells tale of Romanians
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Carpatho-Rusyn Societies of Youngstown, Warren and Sharon will present "Jakub," a documentary film by Jana Sevcikova at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Butler Institute of American Art.
The film tells the story of the lives of Ruthenians living in the Maramuresh mountains of north Romania and in the former Sudentenland in western Bohemia. The film is about a period of five years during the time of two totalitarian regimes and was completed in 1992 after the revolution. It is 65 minutes long.
Admission is free.
