NORTH LIMA -- Scott Conway, Beaver Township Park Board chairman, said he expects the 2005 Woodworth Park Concert Series to attract more area residents this summer -- thanks to the word-of-mouth praises the program has received.
The concert series, embarking on its third year at the Beaver Township park, provides free entertainment each Wednesday, June 15 through Aug. 24. Concerts run from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
Concerts June 15 through July 20 have been coordinated by the township in cooperation with the American Federation of Musicians Local 86-242.
"Every year [the series] has gotten better and better," Conway said.
"We've gotten more and more people and better and better music. It's a nice, relaxing and enjoyable evening for everyone to take advantage of."
Conway said between 150 and 200 people attended each show last summer.
This year's lineup has the following performances:
June 15: Guys Without Ties, featuring music from "Motown to Rock"
June 22: Frank Gallo Orchestra
June 29: John Gabriele and Friend
July 6: Jim Frank Combo
