4 Scouts win gold
In a ceremony last month, the Lake-to-River Girl Scout Council presented the Girl Scout Gold award to four members of Troop 238 of Liberty.
The troop's service award was having a Valentine's Day dinner dance for senior citizens of Liberty, Hubbard, Girard, Niles and Lordstown.
Guests were given a photograph to commemorate the occasion, a homemade dinner, roses and candle globes. They then were able to dance the evening away to 1940s-style swing music. The girls chose this project to reinforce the idea that senior citizens should be cherished not discounted.
