Official: Principal will be fired

COLUMBUS (AP) -- Columbus schools officials have begun the process of firing a principal accused of failing to report an episode in which a fourth-grade boy complained a teacher inappropriately touched him, district officials said.
Columbus Schools Superintendent Gene Harris confirmed Friday that the principal would be fired.
Dora Kunz was principal at Winterset Elementary in 2002 when a boy accused teacher Gary Stroup of inappropriately touching his leg. She did not immediately report the allegations to police, district officials said.
No listing for Kunz could be found Saturday morning. A message was left seeking comment from her at Winterset Elementary.
Kunz would be the second Columbus principal fired in two months for failing to report suspected abuse. A principal at Mifflin High School was fired for failing to call police after a developmentally disabled girl said she was assaulted in March.
Stroup had been warned at least once before about inappropriately touching pupils, according to his personnel file.
