BOARDMAN -- A Health and Safety Day will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the township administration building, 8299 Market St.
A wide array of health screenings from blood pressure check to bone density will be offered free to the public. Numerous health-related businesses will be on hand passing out information and answering questions. Qualified child safety seat installers will check and install car seats.
It's magic
YOUNGSTOWN -- Want to learn about potions, transfigurations, defenses against the dark arts, devination herbology and quidditch? You can during classes at The Children's Museum of the Valley this summer.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 7 and 8, those classes will be taught to children ages 7-12. Each child must choose a single day of classes. Reservations are due by June 15. The fee is $18 for members and $20 for nonmembers. Call the museum, (330) 744-5914, for more information or to secure your reservation.
Scleroderma walk
BOARDMAN -- The Scleroderma Foundation will have a 4K walk from 9 a.m. to noon June 4 at Boardman Park. Walkers must contribute at least $10 to participate. Those who raise $20 or more get a T-shirt. The purpose of the walk is to raise money to fight scleroderma, a disease of the immune system in which the skin thickens and tightens. Damage can also be done to internal organs.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Schwebel Baking Company is teaming up with Curves to offer a free week of exercise. To get a free week at Curves, buy Schwebel's Lite Wheat or Lite White bread, clip the coupon and take it to a Curves location.
First aid courses
BOARDMAN -- The National Safety Council is offering is offering its standard classes in first aid and CPR this week at its facility, 25 E. Boardman St.
UCPR/AED: 8:30 a.m.-noon Wednesday. $25 for members, $32.50 for nonmembers.
UFirst Aid: 1-4:30 p.m. Wednesday. $25 for members, $32.50 for nonmembers.
