Blancos celebrate 50th anniversary with Mass, lunch

XYOUNGSTOWN -- A morning Mass at St. Matthias Church and luncheon for family and friends at Brandywine Community Room May 1 marked the 50th wedding anniversary of Frank and Rochelle Blanco of 7568 Huntington Drive.
The events were hosted by the couple's children and spouses, Philip and Sue Blanco of Poland, John and Donna Bockla of Youngstown, and Christopher and Denise Blanco of Canton, and their three grandchildren.
The couple are also the parents of the late Robert Blanco.
Mr. Blanco and the former Rochelle M. Shodd were married May 7, 1955, in St. Patrick Church. Mrs. Blanco is a cafeteria manager and cook for Youngstown Board of Education, and a Eucharistic minister for the church.
Mr. Blanco retired in 1983 as a welder for the William B. Pollock Co. and has worked as a driver for Deramo Florist, Boardman, since 1987. He also is an usher at the church.
