Area rockers headline show

AUSTINTOWN -- A couple of Universal artists will headline at St. Anne's Festival at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Between Home and Serenity, the rock-emo group from Cleveland, and Cherry Monroe, the pop-rockers from Youngstown, will play an all-ages show at the church, 4310 Kirk Road.
Cherry Monroe's signing with Universal Records has been well-documented. The band is playing a number of tune-up dates prior to its national release on Aug. 16.
Between Home and Serenity has a new CD, "Power Weapons in the Complex," coming out June 7, to be distributed by Universal's Fontana distribution group. BHAS has a lot of "friends" on the Internet. With more than 300,000 plays at purevolume.com and 20,000 friends on myspace.com, the band is working hard to build a broad fan base.
Cherry Monroe, meanwhile, saw its Rust Records release peak at No. 4 on the Nielsen Soundscan charts for the Youngstown-Warren area.
Tickets for Wednesday's show are $6 in advance, $8 day of show.
