Nominations being accepted for women of year awards

Outstanding Valley women are eligible for the recognition.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Nominations are being accepted for the YWCA of Youngstown's Women of the Year Awards.
The awards recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of outstanding women in the Mahoning Valley who have positively impacted their community through volunteer work, career or other extraordinary contributions.
The categories
Honorees in the Women of Achievement category will be selected based on their leadership through service/volunteerism to the community or career and contributions toward helping others achieve their goals. Candidates must reside or work in the Mahoning Valley and be nominated by an organization, group or club. Nominations must be received by Sept. 16. All nominations will be reviewed and honorees selected by an independent panel of judges.
Honorees in the Women of Professional Excellence category are selected by their employers for excellence in the workplace. Call the YW for details about the category and event sponsorship.
Chairwoman for this year's awards event is Chris Gabrick of Schroedel, Scullin & amp; Bestic, CPAs. Co-chairwoman is Fran Curd of Professional Risk Management.
