Water, sewer lines sought

LIBERTY -- Trumbull County and township officials are trying to figure out a way to get water and sewer lines to two new housing developments.
Pat Ungaro, township administrator, said the housing developments, both off Warner Road near Mount Everett Road, are in need of water and sewer lines.
"We have to get it," Ungaro said. "These are two beautiful developments. One will have about 70 homes and the other around 35 or 40."
The administrator said both developments are "upscale." Ungaro refused to identify the developers.
"I'm told the one area will be gated with large homes," Ungaro said.
Ungaro has been talking to county commissioners and Gary Newbrough, Trumbull County sanitary engineer, about getting the services to the residents.
Right now the homes will have wells and septic systems, Ungaro said.
"We would really rather have the water and sewer lines," Ungaro noted.
'Exploring'
Newbrough says he is looking into the situation.
"We are exploring our options right now," Newbrough said. "I'd like to put together a study to find out the best plan."
Newbrough said he hopes to do the study soon.
"For us to grow with our residential and business areas, we need to have water and sewer," Ungaro said. "We can't do any developing in the area without it."
Ungaro said he can seek state Issue II funds to help pay for the project after the study in done.
"I will go after the funding once we can figure out the cost," Ungaro said. "I think once we can get these services to the area we will attract even more residential and business developments."
