AROUND THE HORN Tuesday's other games

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Red Sox 3, A's 2
BOSTON -- Kevin Millar homered off Octavio Dotel on a 2-2 pitch with one out in the ninth inning to lead Boston. Millar, who ended a career-high drought of 120 at-bats without a homer with his first one of the season Monday, also made two errors, both on plays in which Oakland scored both its runs. But after Manny Ramirez struck out in the ninth, Dotel (1-1) walked David Ortiz before Millar's line drive that sailed into the left-field seats behind the Green Monster.
Yankees 7, Mariners 4
NEW YORK -- Tino Martinez homered for the fourth consecutive game, a two-run drive that helped the Yankees extend a regular-season winning streak to four for the first time since September. Chien-Ming Wang (1-1) got his first major league victory as New York overcame a two-run deficit. Mariano Rivera pitched the ninth for his fifth save in seven chances.
Blue Jays 3, Royals 1
TORONTO -- Roy Halladay pitched his AL-leading third complete game of the season and Shea Hillenbrand hit a two-run homer off Zack Greinke (0-4) for the Blue Jays. Toronto has won two straight against major league-worst Kansas City.
Twins 6, Orioles 4, 10 innings
BALTIMORE -- Pinch-hitter Jacque Jones and Shannon Stewart homered on successive pitches from Steve Kline in the 10th inning, and the Twins rallied to earn their 10th win in 14 games. Jones led off the 10th with Minnesota's first pinch-hit homer of the season, a shot to right-center on a 3-2 count. Stewart then put the next pitch from Kline (2-2) into the left-field seats.
Devil Rays 7, White Sox 6
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Jorge Cantu homered with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Devil Rays their second victory in as many days against the White Sox. The Devil Rays rallied twice to tie the game before Cantu's walkoff homer on a 1-0 pitch from Shingo Takatsu (0-2). Jesus Colome (1-0), who came off the 15-day disabled list earlier Tuesday, pitched one perfect inning for the victory as Tampa Bay became just the second team to take a series from the White Sox this season.
Rangers 5, Tigers 4
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Gary Matthews Jr.'s first homer of the season broke a tie, and Hank Blalock also homered and drove in three runs for the Rangers. The Tigers had erased a four-run deficit before Matthews homered leading off the seventh against starter Jason Johnson (2-3). Doug Brocail (2-0) allowed three hits over 1 1/3 innings for the win. Francisco Cordero got three outs for his 11th save in 13 chances.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Cubs 7, Mets 0
CHICAGO -- Greg Maddux struck out 10 in his best outing of the season, and Corey Patterson hit two solo homers to lead Chicago. The Cubs won for only the second time in 10 games and homered in four straight innings, with Jason Dubois adding a solo shot and Jeromy Burnitz hitting a two-run drive. Maddux (2-1) handcuffed the Mets with an array of off-speed stuff, improving to 34-16 lifetime against New York. He gave up three hits and three walks in 6 2/3 innings. Michael Wuertz and Mike Remlinger finished the three-hitter.
Marlins 6, Astros 2
MIAMI -- Mike Lowell snapped a slump and broke a tie with a two-run double, and Florida scored five times in the eighth inning to beat Houston. Florida trailed 2-1 entering the eighth, but Carlos Delgado tied the score with a home run off Russ Springer (0-2). Miguel Cabrera reached on an infield single, and Paul Lo Duca doubled. Jeff Conine was intentionally walked to load the bases. Lowell pulled the first pitch from Chad Qualls off the scoreboard to put Florida ahead.
Reds 5, Padres 1
CINCINNATI -- Sean Casey drove in three runs with a pair of doubles, and Cincinnati's besieged bullpen ended a long stretch of miserable performances by preserving a victory over San Diego. Reds starter Brandon Claussen left in the fourth after taking a line drive off his pitching arm. The left-hander also twisted his left ankle as he fell, and walked with a limp as he left the field and entrusted a 2-0 lead to his relievers. Danny Graves got booed when he came on for the ninth, but finished off Cincinnati's second win in 12 games.
Brewers 8, Phillies 5
MILWAUKEE -- Brady Clark ignited a four-run sixth inning with his third hit of the game and the Brewers rallied past the Phillies. Clark had three singles. His first one led to a three-run rally in the first, his second drove in a run an inning later and his third drove in Damian Miller from third to erase a 5-4 deficit in the sixth.
Braves 9, Rockies 5
DENVER -- Johnny Estrada's two-run double sparked a six-run first inning for the Braves, who snapped Colorado's two-game winning streak. Estrada, Ryan Langerhans, Raul Mondesi and pitcher John Thomson all had two-out RBIs in the first against Jason Jennings (1-4) to help Atlanta build the big lead en route to its sixth win in seven games.
Dodgers 9, Cardinals 8
ST. LOUIS -- Hee-Seop Choi hit a go-ahead, three-run homer after he withstood a collision that forced Scott Rolen from the game with a sprained left shoulder in the Dodgers' victory. Jeff Kent also homered and Cesar Izturis had two hits and two RBIs, helping the Dodgers end a six-game losing streak at Busch Stadium, counting the first round of the postseason last year.
