Man to appear in court on charges of stealing women's undergarments

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- A Sharon man will appear in Lawrence County Central Court on May 17, accused of taking women's undergarments from a Westminster College residence hall.
Police charged James Brian Eberle, 32, with burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property.
New Wilmington police were called to a women's dorm on the campus Saturday afternoon to assist campus security with a report of a suspicious male in the hall.
A police officer saw a man who appeared nervous and matched the description of the suspicious man outside the hall's front entrance.
Police determined that Eberle entered the hall without permission while female students and their families were moving out of the hall for summer vacation.
Once inside, he went to the laundry room and took seven female undergarments, police said. Police found the clothing concealed in Eberle's pants.
He was arraigned before Magistrate Judge Samuel A. Battaglia in Ellwood City and taken to Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bond.
