"Love, Janis," November-January 2006, Hanna Theatre. The life and music of rock-n-roll icon Janis Joplin. Intimate portrayal inspired by the best-selling book by Laura Joplin.
"Little Shop of Horrors," Nov. 8-20, Palace Theatre. Musical comedy masterpiece about a loser, the girl he loves and the man-eating plant that changes their lives forever.
"Evita," Jan. 10-22, 2006, Palace Theatre. Winner of seven Tony Awards, brings to life the dynamic, larger-than-life persona of Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator, Juan Peron.
"Bombay Dreams," March 21-April 2, 2006, Palace Theatre. Dazzling spectacle set amid India's bustling film industry. Handsome young actor dreams of fame and romance. Explores the importance of cultural heritage, the price of success, the bonds of friendship and the power of true love.
"Doctor Doolittle," April 18-30, 2006, Palace Theatre. An American premiere. Big, boisterous family musical. World-renowned veterinarian, Doctor Dolittle and his ability to "talk to the animals" takes audiences on one adventure after another. Michael Curry's (The Lion King) animal designs are comprised of many different styles of puppetry.
"Little Women," May 9-21, 2006, Palace Theatre. Starring Boardman native Maureen McGovern, direct from Broadway, the musical is based on Louisa May Alcott's tale about the power of family, friendship and romance.
"Wicked," June 21-July 9, 2006, State Theatre. Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. How they grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes a musical in years that has won 14 major awards.
