SCOPE Howland Senior Center, 8273 High St. N.E., Warren, activities are as follows: Mondays, billiards, 500 or chess from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., bring a sack lunch; Wednesday, dinner dance from 6 to 9:30 p.m., cost is $10 per person in advance, reservations limited to 65; and May 19, from noon to 1 p.m., a slide presentation of the Hawaiian Islands tour and cruise scheduled for Feb. 17-27, 2006. Also planned is a trip to the Pacific Northwest and California departing Aug. 8. Cost is $1,849 and includes eight days, 10 meals, air fare, bus from Howland to Cleveland airport, four hotels, entrance fees to major attractions and more. Eight seats are available. On May 16 a tea, poetry and hat party will be held at 11 a.m. Tom Gilmartin Sr. will present a poetry program, "Back to Basics," a light lunch and tea will be served, and a prettiest hat contest will be held.
