YOUNGSTOWN -- One man was killed during a fiery one-vehicle crash around 7:20 a.m. Saturday at Oak Street Extension and Jacobs Road on the East Side, police said. The vehicle hit a utility pole, and the collision trapped the victim inside. The vehicle burst into flames, police said. Identification of the man was not available.
Teacher assaulted by boy
YOUNGSTOWN -- A teacher at Immaculate Conception School on Oak Street told police she was the victim of a sexual assault by a 14-year-old eighth-grade boy. The teacher said she was in a faculty restroom around 1 p.m. Friday and opened the door when she heard a knock.
The 27-year-old woman said the boy, whose pants were unzipped, forced his way in, pushed her against a wall and put his right hand down her pants. She said they struggled and, in an attempt to stop the attack, she tried to convince him that they could meet later, reports show.
Later, the East Ravenwood Avenue boy was brought to the principal's office, suspended from school and released to his parents. The case has been assigned to the juvenile division.
Teen shoots at deliveryman
YOUNGSTOWN -- A deliveryman for Pastino's Pizza told police he was shot at by a teenage boy during a robbery attempt in the 700 block of East Boston Avenue on Friday afternoon.
The victim said he pulled into a driveway around 1:20 p.m. to make a delivery but became suspicious when he noticed the boy peeking around the corner of the house. The deliveryman began to pull out of the driveway when the boy approached and pretended to search in his pockets for money to pay for the pizza. The boy then reached in the car to steal the pizza.
The driver jumped out and the boy pulled two handguns and fired one shot as he ran away through rear yards. The second firearm may have been a cap gun, reports show. The driver was not injured.

SALEM -- The Army has awarded a $108,071 contract to Miller-Holzwarth Inc. for vehicular furniture and accessories. The contract was awarded by the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & amp; Armaments Command, Warren, Mich.
