Warren Harding wins county title



Levi Leigh and Darren Lee were named boys MVP.
CORTLAND -- Warren Harding scored 961/2 points to capture the boys title in the Trumbull County track and field meet Thursday at Lakeview High School.
Liberty finished second with 67 and Lakeview was third with 60 in the field of 21 schools.
The Raiders set a meet record 1 minute, 29.1 seconds in the 4x200 relay. The old mark -- 1:30.3 -- was set by the Raiders last year.
Levi Leigh of Mineral Ridge and Darren Lee of Warren Harding tied for boys MVP.
Leigh won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.8 seconds and the 300 hurdles (39.8) and was fourth in the long jump.
Lee took the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 2 inches. He was second in both hurdles.
Justin Wajda of Maplewood was field events MVP. He won the discus (153-8) and was second in the shot put.
Benja'Lan Provitt of Warren Harding was running MVP. He took first place in the 100 (10.8 seconds) and the 200 (22.0).
Tom Andrike of Lordstown set a meet record (1:56.2) in the 800. The old mark, 1:57, was held by Kevin Stonestreet of McDonald in 2003.
Girls
Lakeview captured the girls team title with 111 points in the field of 18 schools.
Warren JFK was a distant second with 68 and Maplewood was third with 55 and McDonald fourth with 54.
Jennifer Grayson of Maplewood was presented with the meet MVP. She took first place in the 100 hurdles (15.5), the 300 hurdles (44.9), high jump (5 feet, 2 inches) and she was fourth in the long jump.
Cachet Murray of Girard was running MVP. She defended her titles in the 100 (12.6) and the 200 (25.5) and placed second in the long jump.
Jackie Clonch of Newton Falls was field events MVP. She won the discus with a throw of 128 feet, 3 inches and was second in the shot put.
Chelsea Coe of Lakeview won the 3200 in 12 minutes, 18.6 seconds. The Bulldogs won the 4x200 relay (1:47.1).
McDonald's 4x800 relay set a meet record (10:07.5). The old mark, 10:08.7, was set by McDonald, 2003.
