Law enforcement agencies work together to arrest sex offender
The fugitive had been in the area for about three weeks.
BOARDMAN -- Several area law enforcement agencies apprehended a Cincinnati man wanted on numerous allegations of violent sex offenses.
Robbie Lett, 34, of Cincinnati, a registered sex offender, was removed from a Stanton Street business about 10 p.m. Wednesday by the Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team.
Lett had been staying at the business and the Youngstown home of a friend for about three weeks, said Dean Michael, of the U.S. Marshals Service and coordinator of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Law enforcement determined his location through an informant.
Lett was wanted by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority. Authorities said his offenses include rape, gross sexual imposition and weapons possession. He also has a gang affiliation, Michael said.
"The arrest and removal of this very dangerous registered sex offender from our community was made possible by the exceptional cooperative efforts of numerous Mahoning Valley law enforcement agencies," Michael said.
Besides the fugitive task force and the crisis response team, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, Ohio Adult Parole Authority and Boardman and Youngstown police departments also participated in the arrest, he said.
