COLUMBIANA Annual meeting held by foundation



COLUMBIANA -- The Columbiana Community Foundation held its annual membership meeting April 26 at the Columbiana Public Library.
Norman Spiker presided, and recognition was given to retiring trustees Mark Frost, Dave George and Richard Berryman.
New trustees elected were Jean Ziegler-Rienerth, Richard Sell and Peggy Oberholtzer.
Following the annual meeting, the new board of trustees met and re-elected Spiker as president. Serving again will be Nels Scheel as vice president and Lynn Stewart as treasurer. Jean Ziegler-Rienerth was named secretary.
Grants were approved for a new score board at the Columbiana High School baseball field in Firestone Park and Boy Scout equipment for Troop 16.
The next board meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. July 26 the library.
Accomplishments
Over the past year, the foundation has awarded 12 community grants totaling $20,168 and scholarships amounting to $10,595 to graduates at Columbiana and Crestview high schools. A home page for the foundation has been set up on the Columbiana Schools Web site at www.columbiana.k12.Oh.us/ccf.
