Turocy sparks Canfield to 10-5 win over Poland



He drove in four runs with a home run and double.
CANFIELD -- Drew Turocy pounded out a double and a three-run home run to lead the Canfield High baseball team past Poland, 10-5, on Wednesday in Metro Athletic Conference play.
Turocy drove in four runs as Canfield (14-6) improved to 8-0 in the MAC.
Kyle Brown also had three hits and drove in four runs while Joe Rosko improved to 6-0 with a five-inning performance.
Adam Wigley (4-2) suffered the loss but had two of Poland's six hits and drove in two runs.
Ursuline 11, Niles 8
NILES -- Ursuline scored six runs in the second inning and then rolled.
Ed Rohan led the Irish (13-5) with two hits including a solo home run. Andrew Frasco, Andy Kopper, Matt Yarab and Dave Patrick all had two hits.
Brandon Miller and Sean Cleary both had doubles for Niles (11-7).
Josh Tedesco improved to 6-0 limiting Niles to six hits while striking out five.
McDonald 9, Jackson-Milton 0
NORTH JACKSON -- Winning pitcher James Beedle struck out 14 batters in tossing a three-hitter. Beedle also had three hits that drove in four runs. Frank Pezzano had two hits for the Blue Devils (12-5, 8-3 Inter-County League).
The Bluejays are 8-10, 4-6.
South Range 8, Western Reserve 7
NORTH LIMA -- South Range (9-5, 7-1 ICL), behind 7-5, rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning as Tom DeChellis' single scored Joel Melnick with the deciding run.
DeChellis also singled in another run and he scored twice.
Vince Barbone hit a double and two singles and Brock Christie added three singles to pace Western Reserve.
