Gehring leads Mineral Ridge win



She pitched a one-hitter and hit two doubles in a 7-0 win over Jackson-Milton.
MINERAL RIDGE -- Winning pitcher Kaili Gehring (7-4) doubled twice, tossed a one-hitter, struck out nine batters and walked one Tuesday as the Mineral Ridge High softball team defeated Jackson-Milton, 7-0.
Also with two hits were Melanie Sparks, Katie Garland, Chelsea Fridley, Heather Buckner and Emily Sheller. Sparks and Sheller tripled while Fridley, Buckner and Heather Reinhart doubled for the Rams (10-9, 5-4 Inter-County League).
For the Bluejays (6-11, 3-7), Erica Wilmogh singled in the fifth inning.
Niles 3, Struthers 1
STRUTHERS -- Ashley Byrom pitched the win and Rachel Mishko had a pair of hits as Niles toppled Struthers.
Kelsy Mikesell also doubled for the Red Dragons. Michelle Zanni suffered the loss, allowing seven hits.
Mooney 14, Beaver Local 1
LISBON -- DiAndra Dibacco had a grand slam homer and Mimi Vitello added three hits for Mooney (13-5, 5-1) in a Steel Valley Conference game.
Mara Palombaro had two hits, including a homer, and Gina Brunetti had two hits, including a triple.
Lee Zimmerman had a triple for Beaver Local (1-4, 5-12).
Boardman 2, Perry 1
MASSILLON -- In the seventh inning, Addie Crothers singled, Ashley DiDomenio doubled and Crothers scored the winning run on a passed ball.
DiDomenico (9-5), the winning pitcher, scattered five hits and struck out five. She also singled in the first run for the Spartans (11-7, 4-4 Federal League). Sarah Albani hit three singles for Boardman.
West Branch 6, Carrollton 3
BELOIT -- Behind 3-2, The Warriors (7-11, 2-9 Northeastern Buckeye Conference), scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Edie Allison led West Branch with two hits.
Windham 7, Southeast 1
RAVENNA -- Ali Roach (10-1) pitched a no-hitter to pick up the victory. Beth Simpson hit a triple and double.
