OHIO EDISON Three outages leave 900-plus without power

One outage was caused by an insulation problem at a substation.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ohio Edison crews restored power to more than 900 customers in Mahoning County following problems at three locations Monday.
The largest outage occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. and affected 809 customers downtown and on the city's north side.
Paul Harkey, an Ohio Edison spokesman, said the outage was caused by a problem with insulation at the Belmont Avenue substation.
Power was restored to all of the customers about 8:20 p.m., Harkey said, but crews were to continue working through the night.
At about 1:45 p.m., 131 customers in Canfield experienced a power outage when a wire went down in the heavily wooded area near Fairway Drive. Officials didn't say what had caused it to fall.
The wire was put back up and power restored shortly before 7 p.m., Harkey said.
Around 6:30 p.m., 14 customers in Austintown lost power when a transformer on Mahoning Avenue, near the Salvation Army, failed.
The cause of the failure is unknown, Harkey said.
Power was restored to all but five of those customers about 7:15 p.m. Harkey said he expected power to be restored to the remaining five, including the Salvation Army, by midnight.
