Warren to induct 11 into hall of fame
The banquet will be held Saturday.
WARREN -- The Warren High Schools Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame board of directors is announcing the inductees for the Class of 2005.
The award honors those individuals who, through their performance and achievements, reflect credit on the Warren high schools past and present (Harding, Warren High School and Western Reserve), so that today's students may find identity in the past and establish goals for the future.
The annual awards banquet will be Saturday at DiLucia's Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road N.E.
The new inductees join 114 current Hall of Fame members. They are:
UHerbert R. Brown, Cincinnati business leader. Senior vice president of Western & amp; Southern Financial Group. WGH, 1958.
UKay Wagner Fisher, volunteer extraordinaire. A major force behind the preservation of the historical section of Warren. WGH, 1943.
ULarry James Gianakos, historian, philanthropist. WGH, 1971.
URichard D. Hamilton, engineer; director of product supply at Procter and Gamble. WGH, 1955.
UPatrice Payiavlas Kouvas, co-president of AVI. WGH, 1977.
UArden O. Lea, Ph.D., entomologist. Retired department head at the University of Georgia. WGH, 1944.
UEdward C. Miner, Ph.D., university professor of sociology and psychology. WGH, 1957.
UJames Ognibene, professional clarinetist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. WGH, 1966.
UElizabeth Frances Spahr, Ph.D., associate director at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. WGH, 1948.
UG. Duke Virca, Ph.D., senior principal scientist of Amgen Corp. WGH, 1970.
UCatherine M. Young, vocal pedagogue/performer; head of voice department at the Victoria Conservatory of Music in Canada. WGH, 1950.
