COLLECTIONS
XSalvation Army will conduct its spring clothing drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the center of the Austintown Plaza, 5000 Mahoning Ave., and in the parking lot of the Poland Giant Eagle, 3130 Center Road. Volunteers will be accepting bagged new and gently used clothing. Marked trucks will be in the parking lots to accept donations. For more information, call the Salvation Army at (330) 270-5999.
DANCES
XMexican Society of Youngstown, in celebration of Mexico's Cinco de Mayo, will sponsor a dance from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. May 14 at the St. Rose of Lima Church hall, 50 Struthers-Coitsville Road, Coitsville. The evening will feature Los Navegantes of Columbus, "Nando," a disc jockey from Chicago, and a special presentation by Alex Corona of Cleveland. Mexican food and beer will be available; no carry-ins are allowed. Cost is $13 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at Casa Ramirez Mexican Restaurant. Singles are welcome. FASHION SHOWS
XTabernacle Education Assistance Ministry at Tabernacle Baptist Church will sponsor "The Journey Home, a Christian fashion show" at 6 p.m. May 13 at the S.P. Phillips fellowship hall, 707 Arlington St., Youngstown. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. For additional information, call (330) 747-9624.
FLEA MARKETS/RUMMAGE SALES
XMount Olivet United Church of Christ, 410 W. South Range Road, North Lima, is holding its semiannual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, including a bake sale; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, which is also half-price day; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on $1-a-bag day. Lunch will also be available Thursday and Friday.
XThere will be a flea market, bake sale and lunch at the Springfield Township Historical Building in Petersburg from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon. Saturday, which is $1-a-bag day.
FUND-RAISERS
XVFW 4192 Auxiliary will sponsor a fund-raiser to help the family of two-year-old Matthew T. Linton with expenses from medical problems he has had since birth. The event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the VFW Pavilion, 3889 Main St., Mineral Ridge, and will include a Chinese auction, 50-50 raffle and food.
RAFFLES
XMcDonald Sideliners are selling raffle tickets for a golf foursome, which includes eleven outstanding golf courses in the area with greens fees and carts. There will be 11 winners, and only 500 tickets will be sold at $20 each. Contact Bob Adair at (330) 530-4589 for tickets.
SALES
XBrownlee Woods Presbyterian Church, corner of Midlothian Boulevard and Irma Avenue, Youngstown, will hold its spring thrift sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 10 and 11. Wednesday is $1-a-bag day. Call (330) 788-4934.
XConcordia Lutheran Church, 125 N. Brockway Ave., Youngstown, is having a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Light lunch and pizza will be available. Everything will be half-price after noon.
XSt. Mary Byzantine Church, 7782 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, will hold a trash and treasure sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will also be a bake sale, hot food and basket raffles.
