Classical guitarist coming to St. John's
YOUNGSTOWN -- World-renowned classical guitarist Ana Vidovic will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., as part of a visit sponsored in part by Youngstown State University's WYSU-FM. Admission is free.
Vidovic will take part in a private, pre-concert recording session in Bliss Recital Hall, where she will be interviewed by National Public Radio personality Fred Child, best known for his nationally syndicated show "Performance Today," at 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays on WYSU-FM.
Vidovic, who began playing the guitar at age 5, also will conduct a master class for YSU students from 1 to 3 p.m. that day in Room 2222, Bliss Hall.

Westminster opera set
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Several Westminster College students -- including Ashley Hatcher, a daughter of Debby Kroll and Paul Hatcher of Geneva, Ohio, and Nikky Douglas, a graduate of The Rayen School in Youngstown -- and faculty will sing in the "Opera Italiana" at 7:30 p.m. April 13 at Orr Auditorium. "We are featuring scenes from operas by Donizetti, Rossini, Puccini, and Verdi with English introductions," said Dr. Anne Bentz, stage director and assistant professor of music at Westminster.
