YOUNGSTOWN -- Anyone interested in auditioning for the dance or majorette squad or feature twirler position at Youngstown State University must attend a clinic Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and the tryout April 2 at 9:30 a.m. Both will be held in Gym C in Stambaugh Stadium on campus. The squad performs at all home football games as well as a few band nights.
Dance/majorette audition: Girls will learn a dance routine and a marching routine at the clinic. Must wear a leotard and shorts with dance shoes.
Feature twirler: Must have own routine no more than two minutes which incorporates one, two and three batons. You will need to come to the clinic on Friday for practice and to get information about the YSU marching pride. Also must wear a leotard.

Bar association acceptingscholarship applications
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Mahoning County Bar Association Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships to attend law school. The Bar Foundation is the charitable branch of the Mahoning County Bar Association and has awarded scholarships to law students for approximately 20 years.
Several scholarships will be awarded. In addition to the general scholarships, there are also scholarships in memory of Atty. Irwin Kretzer, Atty. Theodore T. Macejko, Sr. and Atty. Harlan Small. Recipients will be recognized at the Annual Election Banquet June 27 at the Youngstown Country Club.
Youths, teachers neededfor multicultural program
YOUNGSTOWN -- Children's International Summer Village brings together young people and adults from all over the world. CISV hopes to create a desire among youth delegates and adult leaders to work cooperatively for peaceful solutions to worldwide problems. There are still a few spots open for this summer: Lorrach, Germany, for 13- or 14-year-old boys, for a family exchange program; Campinas, Brazil, for youths 11 years old for a multicultural camp experience; and for 16-year-olds, a summer camp in Jacksonville, Fla.
Adult positions currently available include a male leader in Campinas, Brazil, and a male or female leader in Jacksonville; adult leaders must be 21 years or older. Ritter named director
YOUNGSTOWN -- James M. Ritter has been named director of Undergraduate Student Services at Youngstown State University's Williamson College of Business Administration.
Ritter previously was the educational consultant for the Ohio Department of Education at the Mahoning County Educational Service Center. He also previously was director of enrollment management at Kent State University Trumbull Campus in Warren for nine years.
Ritter received both bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from YSU. He also has an educational specialist degree and is a doctoral candidate at Kent State University.
Program focuses on plans
BOARDMAN -- The Special Education Department of the Boardman Local School District and the Boardman Local PTA Council will present "Dreaming New Dreams: Planning for Your Child's Future Quality of Life -- and Yours as Well." The two-presentation event will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 April 19 at the Boardman High School Performing Arts Center. Admission is free.
The featured presenter will be Stanley Klein, editor, author, educator and national speaker from Boston. He will be available for a book signing following his presentations. Local community agencies will be available in the cafeteria to provide information/resources to parents of children with disabilities and to school districts. Allegheny College amongcolleges with conscience
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny College has been selected for inclusion in The Princeton Review's forthcoming book, "Colleges with a Conscience: 81 Great Schools with Outstanding Community Involvement." The book commends Allegheny as one of the nation's best colleges fostering social responsibility and public service.
