Meridian group to discuss plans



AUSTINTOWN -- The Meridian Corridor group of Austintown 20/20 and Youngstown 2010 will meet at 7 p.m. April 12 at Meridian Arms Living Center, South Meridian Road, to review and discuss a draft mission statement.
The group represents a collaboration between Youngstown and Austintown to implement their respective community plans.
Youngstown's members include Carmen Conglose, deputy director of public works; Jeff Chagnot, development director; Anthony Kobak, chief planner; Councilwoman Carol Rimedio-Righetti; and community members Robert Clemens and Laureen Scahill.
Austintown members are Michael P. Kurilla Jr., township zoning inspector; Mike Dockry, township administrator; Mike Kurish, township clerk; and members from the public Atty. Bob Price, Dick Hartzell and Tim Clymer.
Other stakeholders will be asked to participate as needed.
The group will be asked to work on improvement projects along the Meridian Road corridor from their development through implementation that are consistent with the Austintown 20/20 and Youngstown 2010 plans.
The group also will be asked to establish goals and recommendations for the city and township for future rezoning and land-use decisions.
